This episode… I’m not going to mince words, this episode was a cheap rehash of Thor 2.

Review: Avengers Assemble "Hulked Out Heroes"
My opinion toward this episode is going to be tough for me to explain, so please bear with me.
This is not a bad episode. …I think.

Recap: Avengers Assemble "Hulked Out Heroes"
Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. It always seems to come back to that, doesn't it? In that show, the Hulk is a bit smarter, calmer, and more experienced. This let's him act as a mentor and anchor to his team. In Avengers Assemble, he's the classic HULK SMASH Hulk. But what if you put this angrier, dumber Hulk in the same position as the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. character?
Ladies and gentlemen, we return to Avengers Assemble with "Hulked Out Heroes."

Recap: Fantastic Four WGH, "The Cure"
Ah, Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes. A lot of people don’t even know this show exists. I discovered it back in high school, and I generally liked it, though certain things about it would often get on my nerves. Before we begin, I’d like to go over a couple things for the uninitiated.
Reed Richards, Ben Grimm (Reed’s best bud), Susan Storm (Reed’s girlfriend), Johnny Storm, and Victor von Doom go up into space, get hit by cosmic rays, and mutate. Vic becomes the evil Doctor Doom, and the rest become the Fantastic Four. …Nuff said!
Why does this episode fit in with my green-themed schedule? You’ll see! Now let’s begin Episode 18, “The Cure”!

Sketchbook: Green Goblin Redesign
This one wasn't requested by anybody, I just wanted to do it for March. Because green.
...is what I originally typed here when I set this post to upload. But lo and behold...
"a 'green theme' this month? well then you should do the green goblin. i mean 'green' is in his name after all"
-Anonymous
What can I say? E'rybody likes the Goblin.
For this one, I gave myself no "rules" to follow. Mainly because I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Let's take a look-see!

NewtCave FAQs
So, what's this site all about?
Hey there, new reader! Here's an introduction page just for you!
If clicking is too much hassle, here's the breakdown: Recaps, Reviews, and various Essays and Editorials.
How do you decide what to Recap/Review/etc.?
Good question. Sometimes I try to do something relevant to recent events and/or holidays, but oftentimes I do what I feel like.
Do you take requests for Recaps and Reviews?
If it falls into my area of expertise (comic books and assorted nerdery), I might take a crack at it when I can fit it into my schedule. All you have to do is leave a comment.
Are you a Marvel or a DC?I like many things from both companies; they're both exciting me and irking me equally at this moment, but in different ways.
Um... how's your day been?
Pretty good, yourself?
Not too bad. Can't complain.
Good to hear.
When I'm done with the FAQs, where should I start reading your blog?
Anywhere. See a show to the left you like? Why not give it a click? See anything else that looks interesting? I invite you to check it out.
Sounds good.
Cool.
Any more questions?
Not really.
Cool. Will I be seeing you around the blog?
Yeah, I... wait, I thought I was supposed to be asking the questions here.
Did you see that specifically stated at any point?
I guess not.
Then enjoy your stay at the NewtCave! We'll keep the NewtSignal on for you.

Recap/Review: DC Showcase "Green Arrow"
FYI: NewtCave Overhaul
Well, not really an "overhaul," per se, but it got your attention, which is all I wanted.
Once again, I have been going through the process of making the blog look a bit better, fixed the "First Time Here?" section, and I'm also currently working on a FAQ's page that should go up soon as well as going back. And fixing the more egregious picture mis-formatting in a few posts.
Also, new content will still be coming. I'll have more details about that at the beginning of April.
So, things might start to look a bit different around here.
Please pardon the construction.

FYI: March Schedule
I apologize profusely, but I've had to cut back on updates for March.
School, life, graduation.... Things have been piling up. Luckily, I'll have more free time in the not-too-distant future (approximately Next Sunday, A.D.), but not now.
Again, I'm sorry. Major updates will still happen, so I should be hitting all the things you guys wanted me to cover during March.

Recap/Review: The Incredible Hulk (1996) "Doomed"
For a change of pace, keeping the green theme for this month, let's visit a cartoon closer to the Hulk's roots. Specifically, the '96 Hulk cartoon. This series is pretty close to the status quo for the majority of the Hulk's run up to that point in the comics. The Hulk (and Bruce Banner) are on the run from the military (led by a non-Rulkified General Ross) while trying to do some good in the world with his super powered alter ego. General Ross' daughter Betty is the love interest, and Bruce Banner actually appears in this show. That's a plus already. Now that you're up to speed, let's begin!
Hey, now, "incredible?" Don't let your title write checks your show can't cash. |

Review: Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. "Mission: Impossible Man"
Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate the
Impossible Man since I began to live. There are hundreds, if not thousands of pages
of comic books in my collection. If the word 'hate' was printed on each
nanoangstrom of those pages it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I
feel for Impossible Man at this micro-instant. For this episode. Hate. Hate.
HATE.
I always try to be fair, and I try to not engage in hyperbole… but I hate this episode with a passion. The only way to possibly make this character work is when the characters realize exactly how unbearable he is and make the plot of the episode trying to get rid of him, instead of grudgingly putting up with him. The Fantastic Four: WGH cartoon’s episode “Impossible” has the main plot of the episode be getting rid the little green nudnik, which is something I can get behind. In fact, the big threat of the episode is more Popuppians arriving on Earth. I shudder at the thought.

Recap: Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. "Mission: Impossible Man"
Last time, I began my Recap by showing that the quality of this show has generally been improving over time, culminating in the very enjoyable "Abomination". Well, today, we're back to basics! Yes, we're returning to the crapola this week with the introduction of the most annoying character in the show. Small, hyperactive, semi-omnipotent, and voiced by Tom "Spongebob" Kenny. You have been warned.

Sketchbook: Miss Martian Redesign
Well, March is all up on us!
Let's begin a full month of green with a Redesign of one of my favorite green characters, Miss Martian!
You guessed it, I gave myself a few rules.
Let's begin a full month of green with a Redesign of one of my favorite green characters, Miss Martian!
Why is it that green-skinned characters are usually redheads? |
- Keep the t-shirt and the crossed red sash.
- That's it.
- So it's really more like one rule.
- Oops.
